Vacant Posts in Railways

Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:-
(a) whether the Railways have taken note that various posts of employees especially Class-I to Class-III are lying vacant;
(b) if so, the details thereof, Category-wise, Zone-wise especially those zones located in the State of Maharashtra and also Eastern Central Railway;
(c) whether the Railways propose to make recruitment to fill up the said vacancies;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the steps taken by the Railways in this regard?

(a) Yes, Madam.
(b) to (e) Occurrence and filling up of vacancies is a continuous process. Ministry of Railways’ endeavor is to fill up the vacancies promptly by timely placement of indents with the recruitment agencies viz. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs) etc. Details of vacancies for which action for recruitment is currently underway, are as under: -
